Our Mission
Our mission is short but by no means simple – to help university students in the UK by improving every aspect of university life... one step at a time.

Here's the reality: mental health among UK students is reaching a crisis point. Over 57% of university students report struggling with depression and anxiety, with diagnosed conditions climbing every year. These aren't just numbers – they represent individuals trying to balance overwhelming workloads, navigate the social maze of university, and build connections in unfamiliar settings.

But here's the kicker – many students feel like there's no one to talk to or no easy way to make meaningful connections. Gleb and Jacob, our founders, know this struggle all too well. As university students themselves during the Covid-19 pandemic, they saw classmates struggle, drop out, and lose their way because of a lack of support and social connection.

That’s why they created Uni-Chat. Gleb and Jacob have been friends for seven years, and during their university years, they identified a glaring problem: there was no platform designed specifically for students – a space to meet like-minded peers, support each other, and make university life less overwhelming.

Uni-Chat was built to bridge that gap. Whether it's finding a study buddy, joining a club, or simply having someone to talk to, Uni-Chat is here to make university life less daunting, one connection at a time.
Gleb and Jacob have been friends for seven years. During their time in university, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, they noticed a glaring problem: there was no social media platform designed specifically for university students.

They witnessed a rising number of students dropping out due to the difficulty of finding like-minded friends or connecting with their peers. This issue, which existed prior to the pandemic, became even more pressing during that period. their realisation resulted in the creation of Uni-Chat.
